For 25 years, the Yonex Power Cushion 65 Series has supported champions on their journeys to greatness. The 65Z Anniversary Edition honors this legacy with a commemorative design that brings these powerful emotions together—celebrating the champions, their stories, and the unforgettable moments that define victory.

The Yonex Power Cushion 65Z 25th Anniversary Edition is built on the proven performance of the popular SHB-65Z4, featuring advanced construction that enhances durability, comfort, and on-court performance.

The updated design features a reinforced, double-layer stitched toe box that replaces the previous seamless construction for improved durability and long-lasting wear. An integrated inner bootie replaces the traditional two-piece structure, creating a smooth, secure, and comfortable fit from the forefoot to the midfoot, even during intense movements.

Additionally, the lower-profile, ergonomically designed outsole improves alignment and flexibility, providing stronger push-off power and quicker, more responsive footwork. Together, these refinements deliver the stability, comfort, and agility players need to perform confidently at every level of the game.

INNOVATION

Inner Bootie + Lateral Shell

A flexible material from the metatarsal to the heel that produces a more secure and gentle fit during intense movements. The hardened shell-like portion near the ankle, also known as the expanded lateral shell, provides a secure fit around the ankle. It prevents foot movement at the edge of the sole for reduced power loss, allowing for fluid and aggressive footwork.

RADIAL BLADE SOLE

The grip pattern of the sole has been redesigned creating the RADIAL BLADE SOLE. By finely arranging a windmill shape that combines areas with large and small indentations, the weight of the shoe is dispersed, and the grip is improved by approximately 3%*. Resulting in a grip that supports quick dashes and sudden stops.

POWER CUSHION+

The 65 Z features a specially shaped wedge of POWER CUSHION+ in the heel designed specifically to absorb shock associated with the footwork of badminton. By improving shock absorption, our POWER CUSHION+ technology transforms impact into energy. A 28%* increase in shock absorption and a 62%** increase in repulsion when compared to the standard EVA materials.

  • Toe Assist Shape - A toe-centric design that cuts down on pressure in the big toe, as well as offering improved support at the mid-foot and heel for a stable fit. Power loss is reduced, allowing for swift footwork.
  • Power Cushion Plus ( 3 Layers) - The Yonex Power Cushion effectively absorbs shock then reverses the impact energy for smooth transfer into the next movement. Compared with conventional POWER CUSHION, the new POWER CUSHION PLUS boasts 25% more shock absorption and 12% more repulsion.
  • ToughBrid Light - ToughBrid Light retains the exact performance as ToughBrid yet is 11 percent lighter, generating a significant reduction in leg and knee stress.
  • Round Sole - The Yonex Round Sole is designed to provide all-around support for quick and smooth footwork. The Round Sole integrated into the forefoot and heel of the shoe to minimize power loss, ensuring smooth movements the transfer of maximum energy to successive movements.
  • Power Graphite Lite - A super-light graphite plate is inserted under the middle portion of the foot to increase stability and reduce weight within the shoe.
  • Syncro-Fit Insole - Yonex Synchro-Fit Insole construction creates a secure contact between foot and shoe, reducing energy wastage through an improved fit. By holding the heel firmly against the insole, the gap between foot and shoe is reduced, improving comfort and performance, ensuring the foot has maximum grip inside the shoe.

  • Tough Guard III - Three times stronger than ordinary synthetic leather and more resistant against heat for prolonged comfort and better performance.
