Yonex Astrox 88S Skill Emerald Green Badminton Racket

The Yonex ASTROX 88 Skill (AX88S) Off White Red badminton racket is designed to redefine the design of a badminton racket for doubles player. The ASTROX 88 Skill (AX88S) Off White Red is targeted for finesse players that control the net and position the shuttles to set up an attack, usually the players on the frontcourt. Designed with the whole frame flexible allows the ASTROX 88 Skill (AX88S) to hold the shuttlecock for accurate control. In addition, the overall length of the Astrox 88S is only 5mm longer (5mm shorter than Astrox 88D Dominate), which enhances both accuracy and power. Astrox rackets are an attack-oriented model that can take the lead in a high-speed game with a design that can deliver powerful, steep smashes, allowing players to dominate the court. The new ASTROX 88 racket is equipped with Rotational Generator System. The counter balanced head adapts to each shot, helping you to control the drive and to attack the opposition with increased acceleration, steeper angle, and power on the smash.

ASTROX 88 uses the worlds first, new dimension graphite material, Namd, which greatly improves the adhesion of the graphite fibers and resin by attaching nanomaterial directly to the graphite fiber.

Yonex NAMD new carbon technology

In high performance racquets, it is common to combine nanomaterials with resin that connects graphite fibres, but in Namd, nanomaterials are directly adhered to the graphite fibres and the degree of adhesion between graphite fibres and resin is greatly increased. This major improvement produces a shaft that flexes and stores energy, delivering explosive force on impact with the shuttle.

From the initial movement of the player to the impact, the new dimension graphite is difficult to harden, and the shaft extends and accumulates energy due to the speed of the fast swing. Since the follow-through of the swing is smaller after direct impact with the shuttle, the swing speed drops and the new dimension graphite regains hardness and strengthens the resilience of the shaft, allowing the energy to explode rapidly before returning to its original state.

By applying the counterbalance theory, weight is distributed throughout the grip end, frame top and the joint for maximum control. The transition to the next shot can be performed smoothly with a rapid succession.

Yonex Astrox 77 Swing Weight Concept

The new carbon material combination used in the primary composition creates a different Flex Point in each racket: Astrox 88S Skill will flex on the bottom of the head frame to hold the shuttle and give better control while Astrox 88D Dominate will flex at the center of the head frame to transmit power to the shuttle as shown on the image below.
