Description Technical Specs

The Arc Saber 7 is the first release of the Arc Saber series from Yonex. The ArcSaber Series of rackets utilize Yonex’s exclusive Cup-Stack Carbon Nanotube technology to create a revolutionary blend of power and control. Positioned at the sides of the racket frame, this revolutionary technology absorbs and harnesses energy from the shuttle’s impact to provide the player with unparalleled feel during every shot. This energy is then transferred into a return of supreme strength and pinpoint accuracy.

The ArcSaber 7 is used by professional players such as the 2008 Olympic Gold Men Doubles Champion Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia, 2009 Super Series Indonesian Open Women Singles Champion Saina Newal of India, and 2006/2008 European Champion Women Singles Xu Huaiwen of Germany. From players perspective, the racket is a very easy racket to adapt in both singles and doubles game. The racket has an even balance with execellent repulsion for power and defense. It is considered as one of the most comfortable and all-around racket in Yonex's Arc Saber series badminton racket.

I find that this is a very lightweight and versatile racket!  When I smash, I find that it has lots of power and is very aerodynamic.  Strung with BG 85 string at 23 lb, I find that higher tension helps a lot with the power.  This is one of the most affordable rackets in the ArcSaber series, and it is a great racket for intermediate to advanced players.  The reason I rated this racket four stars is that the defense of this racket is a little weak, I would recommend this racket to players who like to play offense or are usually in the back in mixed doubles, it provides a lot of power!

5 of 5 Like my own arm - Easy / Powerful / Fast November 29, 2009

This racket is excellent in all perspective. From the first time I used it, I already knew that this is THE racket.

Since I used this racket, a moved from Ti-10 and MP-99, my game has entered a whole new level. First noticeable improvement is that my reaction is faster. I was able to defend and drive with confidence. Second, my shot is more powerful. Having a lighter head weight than the Ti-10 and MP-99 just make my timing better and move my stroke and smash to the explosive level. Lastly, my control. Do not know how, just I was able to point my shot better with this racket. I feel like I am like Olympic Gold medalist, Hendra Setiawan, who also uses this racket.... I wish.... Oh well, at least I can play a lot better now.

On first use, the feel of the racket was familiar. Net shots were effective but clears/lifts needed more effort. Smashing is medium-well and so is the relative maneuverability.

But I rated this 2 stars because while I had fairly decent play with it, I found it to be lacking severely in durability. I have had no clashes since last late-fall when it simply snapped (at the bottom side of the head) like a limp twig when I had swung it in the air. Moreover, I have a friend who also had an ArcSaber 7, which failed him halfway through his second month of use.

Suffice to say, I won't be using Yonex anymore. They produce decent rackets but do not produce durable ones with exception to the Carbonex line.
